Getting down to less than 20 albums / releases and 25 tracks was difficult enough so there’s no way we’ll be putting them in order. As a result here’s a month by month rundown of a great year for bass music.

January

Ivy Lab – Afterthought ft Frank Carter III
A contender for one of the best d&b tracks of the year came very early
with the dream team of Sabre, Stray and Halogenix and Frank Carter III
reunited after the success of Oblique for another slice of utterly
beautiful music.

Bobby Tank – The Way EP
BB&C are massive fans of Bobby Tank’s day-glo future-funk and this EP
helped kick off 2013 with maximum energy. Here’s our favourite track
Zario’s Echo but check the full release here.

Zeds Dead – Hot Sauce EP
The Canadian duo match their adventurous sets with this genre-hopping, tempo-switching EP. Constant throughout are their epic basslines and super-tight production.
