Hue Imperial Palace – Ben Around the World Diary – Day 149 – 14th November 2019

– ODO- 18601-18673km
– Location- Hue
– Weather- 25-31 broken cloud

I’ve visited more tourists spots in this week with George in Vietnam then my entire last leg across Myanmar. Pushing through the crowd of taxis and weed sellers we entered the palace gate under a bed sheet sized Vietnamese flag. The palace grounds were surrounded by tall walls and deep trenches. The palace itself, rebuilt after being bombed in the Vietnam war, holds a gold throne in a dark room. The rain came down and explored a network of temples and out buildings, koi filled lakes and rock gardens sprouting bonsai trees. A beautiful space worth a detour to explore on any trip.
