Thailand is my favourite place to ride in all Asia so far. It has fast smooth roads crossing flatlands and wild mountainous national parks with the extra lanes cars give you decent space. Hotels (and I’ve even seen campsites) are cheap and plentiful and there are great wild camping spots to boot. The people are polite and friendly. The food is varied healthy and the side of the road is full of 711s and modern convenience stores stocked with high quality drinks and snacks. This four day dash to Vientiane is my taster, I’m looking forward to coming back into Thailand in my next leg along the coast to Bangkok.
